The Serious Games Initiative founded Games for Health to develop a community and best practices platform for the numerous games being built for health care applications. To date the project has brought together researchers, medical professionals, and game developers to share information about the impact games and game technologies can have on health care and policy.


Games for Health 2006 Annual Conference

With almost a month to go until the 2006 Games for Health third annual conference, it's time to start taking care of a few details. Below you will find information on upcoming deadlines for hotel discounts plus details on the Wednesday and Thursday evening receptions, hosted Wednesday by the State of Maryland and Baltimore County Business and Economic Development, and Thursday courtesy of Virual Heroes.

Hotel discounts still available until September 5

If you haven't booked a hotel room yet, don't forget that the last date for hotel discounts is September 5. More details available here.

Wednesday Evening Reception

Please join us Wednesday evening at the Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel for an early registration reception hosted by the State of Maryland and Baltimore County Business and Economic Development. Meet speakers, and invited guests of the community and the University of Maryland School of Medicine from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.

A tour of the Shock Trauma Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center will also be offered at 6:00pm that same evening. See first hand the world renowned emergency medical facility in action. Early registration is required as space for the tour is limited to 25. Please email bbryant@dmill.com.

Thursday Evening Reception courtesy of Virtual Heroes

The opening evening reception will be located in the Atrium, outside the main auditorium, from 5:30-7:30. Virtual Heroes will showcase some of their recent work using gametechnologies to enhance person-to-person role playing and leadership. Enjoy food and beverage while networking with other gamers, health and healthcare professionals.
